Race Recap
First practice rounds, team showed great lap times and good sled performance. Under the new ISOC organization, course format is different, with longer track set-up than in previous years. As racers plied their trade, track conditions deteriorated setting up for a very difficult race. Robbie Malinoski had his share of bad luck, crashing twice over the two day weekend.

Of the more noteworthy moments; Robbie led for twelve laps of his Pro Open LCQ heat, picked a bad line and was passed by Turcotte in the final laps. This put him on the back row for the Pro Open Final. He had a good start, and began the methodical process of picking riders off one-by-one. In the midst of the battle, he hit an ice berm in “The Abyss” launching him into a nose dive, resulting in a wicked crash.

The team wrestled with holeshots the entire weekend…with the course set-up and the high skill level of Pro Level riders, it is no easy task to get back to the front when you get jammed in the chaos of traffic. Overall, the team is excited about the new organization, the format and the enthusiasm of the crowds and the sled performance. We still have work to do, and the boys are hard at it already. We are greatly encouraged by Robbie’s fast lap times, and know where we need to be to bring the rest in line. The next race is fast upon us and we are all working on podiuming at Ironwood.
